Stone holiday rentals Dalmatian Pearls, Kraj, Pasman, Croatia

Dalmatian Pearls vacation rentals are built in the small coastal town Kraj, situated on a peaceful part of the island Pasman in Middle Dalmatia, Croatia.

We settled along the beach Duzica, one of the two bigger beaches in town. Kraj is on the northern side of the island between towns Tkon and Pasman, and opposite of Sv. Filip i Jakov.

Kraj

The town Kraj is situated on the northeastern side of the island Pasman, between bigger towns Tkon and Pasman, and opposite coastal towns St. Filip i Jakov and Biograd. With a view of the Pasman Channel, you can’t help but appreciate the sight of the islands Muntan, Duzac (Veliki and Mali) and Cavatul, after which the houses are named.

Kraj has a long history dating to the antiquity, but the most significant development happened at the end of the 14th century when todays inhabitants settled there. A part of the old city center from that time still stands, filled with traditional stone houses and Sv. Duje monastery with its abbey and a museum from the 14th century.

Kraj is a place where you can experience the authentic way of living on the Dalmatian islands and their local population.

Pašman Island

Pasman Island is a perfect destination for relaxation. Rich with numerous sand beaches, lagoons and Mediterranean flora and fauna, the island gives the impression of safety and homeliness. Situated in the Zadar Archipelago, the island of Pasman is surrounded by an extremely clear sea thanks to the sea current changing its direction every six hours. It is separated from Zadar and Biograd by the Pasman Channel with dozens of beautiful islands. Pasman is connected to another island, Ugljan by a bridge over the Zdrelac Pass, and frequent ferry lines make it well connected to both Zadar and Biograd.

Thanks to its rich history, on Pasman you can see the remains of Illyrian cities, archeological findings from the Roman ages, a statue of Sv. Mihovil dating to the 12th century, a Benedictine convent of Sv. Kuzma and Damian, as well as numerous other monuments. Besides its history, you can also enjoy observing the everyday life of the locals on Pasman. They usually work in agriculture or fishing industry.
